Sorry guys, I know I am only posting once this week, but I have really good reason.I’m tired, bih. When I get home I eat , Netflix and chill with my daughter only to fall asleep and wake up at like 1am wondering what century I am in.The past weekend I decided to only shoot one look so I could enjoy my family all day.We all did an activity we needed or something we have been wanting to do.My husband got a much needed acupressure massage, I got a spa pedicure (never had one btw, I’m hooked), and my daughter got to go on a super cool mini train ride and meet her new fave person, Moana.I could not even convince her that it was just an impersonator *sighs in parental.

When life give you limes...wait-- when has life given us limes or lemons for that matter? I can tell you what it has given me, metaphors about food that reflect how we handle hard times.Enough already! Sorry, sorry, so sorry please forgive me.I am hungry.I'm pregnant .I'm always hungry, lemme go eat real quick. Ok, I'm back! That hunger is no joke guys! So where was I? Oh yea , food;the limes. The perfect garnish to any summer beverage (I miss drinking...7 more months!) and its color its just as pleasing in dress form.I have never been too keen on green, but this summer I am changing that.I'm always here for Olive (of course),but bright green is such a fun and festive color and brings so much life.Green has always been the color associated with earthy, natural, fresh, and the idea of being reborn.Being with child, I'd say this color was made for me. Instead of taking my twists out , like I planned in a blind rage, I opted to wrap them up courtesy of Shop Fe-line.My citrus-hued Ankara head wrap was the perfect accessory to accent my dress and keep me from passing out under my long ass twists (that I now regret doing in the HEEEEAAATT of the summer). My wrap is sold out but I have picked out some other fab head pieces to keep your hair off your neck this hell season-- err I mean Summer. I live in the South and on a nice day in the Summer, its a bearable thousand degrees.Instead of going butt-naked, like I planned before the "knocking up" , I'm doing the next best thing.Showing shoulder and clavicle is all I got right now while I beef up (uummmm food). This off the shoulder dress is the perfect length and the perfect hue to pop against my melanin.I'm glowing out in these streets!! In love with the green but not the idea of spending it all on a dress? Check out these amazing picks below starting at $14! click each pic to shop What accessories go with a sunny citrus palette? Well if its against brown skin, then the answer is brown of course. My brown gladiator sandals are 1,000 years old from GoJane and I practically stole them for $7.50.I paired them with my leather Selma Michael Kors purse.Speaking of MK, did you hear they just bought the luxury shoe line Jimmy Choo? Chile , lemme just shut my over-mass produced ,reduced-quality,over-saturated-basic-handbag-having-ass up. My leather choker along with my gold earring really seal this deal.My choker is from the company 4everunicornfashion.Fun Fact: I was asked to be the face of their company and I said YES!! Not only do they sell amazing chokers , but other accessories like shoes, belts, swimsuits, glitter tights, and other body jewelry. Check me out!! So I am back!! Morning sickness and 24 sleepy feeling be gone! I missed you all so much.I have literally been up to nothing other than harboring a little human who has been zapping all my energy and food.I was so pitiful yall. All I did everyday was gag and then go home and sleep for 12 hrs.I had new clothes and I didn’t even feel like trying them on.That is sooooo not me! The lethargy also had me doubting myself like “what if I forget how to put clothes together?” or “what if I just lose my mojo?”.This preganancy has been playing tricks on me. I am officially heading into my 2nd trimester and am ready to get back to the slay. Did you guys miss me?
After my breakdown and coming to terms with 29, I can say I finally feel good about a lot of things. However the stress from overthinking every aspect of my life has me tired.I need a vacay.I'm thinking Cuba...maybe? Yes, Cuba!
It's Aprill, truly the most wonderful time of the years ('cept the pollen). The ground has softened, the birds are singing, my birthday is around the corner (April 15th gifts are being readily accepted lol), and of course people are procreating. Those cold winters really help with that though .

Not only was he one of the most intelligent minds, but also one of the wisest.Just like electrity and currents, creativity flows and continues to flow as long and the path is not blocked, or whatever (you can tell I know nothing of how electricity works). The point is ,the flow of creativity is unstoppable as long as you allow it to be. I am constantly inspired and hopefully in the midst, I have been a source of inspiration as well.

Hope you enjoy the post! Today is Jamaican Independence day !!!Big ups to the homeland of mi fadda! (to those who don't understand Patois , that's my dad!) In honor of my paternal heritage , I'm going full on Island gyal today!! My dad is more on the religious side so I didn't grow up listening to Reggae , Dancehall, and drinking Rum (its a joke btw...these are just stereotypes).I grew up in church living a very sheltered life. I never knew much of my Jamaican heritage or family until we visited Jamaica the summer before I went to 11th grade. I didn't know what to expect, but I was excited. The resorts and coconut sipping images drenched in your mind can be thrown out right now. I experienced the real Jamaica , the rural , the local Jamaica. It was enchanting! Me and my brothers walked country dirt roads , the perfume of ripened Mangoes filled the air from local Mango trees hanging over the streets. The first day we got there and were just chilling in my dad's old country neighborhood, a guy stopped me and my brother and said "Are you Brackett's?!" (that's my dad's last name-my maiden name) we had just stumbled upon on of my dad's brothers. He knew we were related because of our big eyes , he said. For two weeks we travelled all over from Negril, Sav-la Mar, Montego Bay, Kingston and a few other places visiting family I had never seen as well as my full of church (we never got a vacation from that.lol).To sum up that trip, I learned firsthand about my Jamaican culture and learn to embrace the simplicities of life. That trip really changed me. I came home culturally awakened and filled with so much pride. Seeing my island brethren take nothing and make it into something in so many facets of life really got me inspired. So today, I pay homage to the colorful , creative, strong willed dutty whining culture of my Jamaican people.Side note: I will be going to crop over and I will be fully decked out with my glorious cheeks clapping on somebody's float one day!
